Jade artifacts are published to the Jade Maven repository.
https://jadeframework.net/mavennet.jadeframework:jade:${version}The Jade API.
This dependency is only needed at compile time.net.jadeframework:jade-html:${version}HTML5 element and attribute bindings, generated from the WHATWG spec. (Strictly speaking this is optional, but it is highly recommended. Omitting it would be like using React without JSX).
net.jadeframework:jade-derive-processor:${version}Annotation processor which generates element constructors for your components. (Strictly speaking this is optional, but it is highly recommended. Omitting it would be like using React without JSX).
This dependency is only needed on the processor path.net.jadeframework:jade-derive-annotations:${version}The @DeriveElement annotation. This is processed by the aforementioned dependency.
net.jadeframework:jade-servlet:${version}Implementation of Jade API based on the Java Servlet API. This is the Jade reference implementation.
This dependency is only needed at runtime.
net.jadeframework:jadex-servlet:${version}Extension to the Jade API which integrates the Java Servlet API. Notably this allows components to depend on the servlet's HttpSession.
This dependency is only needed at compile time.
Download jade-cli from Jade repository and add it to your PATH.
Run jade component HelloWorld in your project's package.
jade-cli requires a pre-existing package-info.java file. If one does not exist, create it before running the above command.
JadeApplicationThis is the entrypoint to your application. The jade-servlet implementation leverage's the servlet container's classpath scanning mechanism to find this class, it need not be registered explicitly.
Since this is not a component (it is just an element factory), it is an inconvenient place to construct a view. The suggested approach is for createRootElement to shell out to a "Main" or "Root" component.
The suggested approach for building and deploying during development is Gradle and Tomcat.
During development Gradle automatically rebuild and redeploy the project when a component is modified. An example of a project that uses this approach can be found in the Jade Git repository. See jade-examples/jade-examples-todo/build.gradle.kts
